Courses & Workshops

The next Pharmacoeconomic Modeling Course will be held in February 2007 in Toronto, Canada.  If you are interested in attending, please contact Dr. Nicole Mittmann at 416-480-6100 ext:1652 or by emailing nicole.mittmann@sunnybrook.ca
  • Promote an in depth understanding of key aspects of economic evaluation
  • Enhance knowledge of advanced decision modelling techniques
    (i.e., Markov modelling)
  • Demystify the use of decision analysis software
  • Build on previous modelling experience
  • Health outcomes and Pharmacoeconomic analysts
  • Regulatory/government affairs professionals
  • Individuals acquainted with basic pharmacoeconomic theory
  • Individuals with model building experience
  • Individuals who require a hands-on knowledge of modelling chronic diseases

Our interactive educational format will endeavour to go beyond rudimentary definitions of pharmacoeconomics to provide the necessary tools to design and conduct economic evaluations suitable for reimbursement submission and publication.  Participants will be guided through the construction of a relevant and realistic decision tree-based case study (a cost-utility Markov model).

Special emphasis will be placed on the stepwise approach to producing a comprehensive study:  determination of cost inputs, derivation of clinical probabilities, estimation of utility values, construction of models, calculation of base case results, sensitivity analyses, sensibility analyses, and interpretation
